Had to order a new bellhousing, will be here today.. That means engine will slip on in for what I hope is the last time.
This carb showed up yesterday. Have not tried this brand yet. Hope it works 1/2 as good as it looks! ![]() |

Got the engine slid in this past weekend. Had to buy a new bellhousing for the T5..
Had, both cracked.. grr Went and measured for pushrod length, got a good pattern and pushrods ordered. ![]() I am starting to think I should have taken my time a bit. It's just a Pinto, far from perfect, but looking back, it does look better than it did.. ![]() ![]() |

Had to push the old Pinto out of the garage to get to my engine hoist.
Snapped a pic or two. Not sure if the front will drop any more, but kind of digging the look. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

You can definitely straddle some road kill with that thing!

Today I ground the center of the waterpump down flush with the pulley and countersunk the screws..
![]() Then notched the lower valance, so that the fan would fit ![]() Then removed a bit of material on the back side of the grille ![]() So that everything should fit ![]() With TONS of room to spare.... going to have to remove the radiator to put on fan belt.. Glad I have solid motor mounts. lol ![]() |

Yea....that's a bit tight man! Hopefully the solid mounts won't let it move forward much!

So I was unable to close the hood.
Was ALMOST hitting the distributor cap without plug wires, and was hitting the airhorns on the carb. Planned on getting a fiberglass cowl hood.. $310 Went to order and it was over $300 in shipping!!! Decided to put 3 slits in my stock one and see if I could just make a free cowl to clear. With the center ridge it would not bend how I needed it to. SO I went all in and cut out the whole section out, matching the angle of the front of the hood. Then slid it back, and cut 4.5" off the back of the cutout, and 2" off the sides so that I could get some nice tapers instead of straight vertical sides... This actually might work out. Still need to cut a piece for the back but the hood shuts! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Got the bumper mounted for the first time, and pushed it out of the garage to see how it looks (one car garage with no more than 2 feet on each side / front. hard to get a complete visual)
One week from today I will have had it 2 years! Though 7 projects have bumped this thing down the list. It WILL run this year.. lol Just ordered a new 3rd member, axle bearings/seals, and a disk brake kit for the rear end this weekend. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

With the short wheel base, I'd love to see that made into a wheel stander
