Any plasti-dip users?
If so is it heat resistant? I want to do my VCs and intake mani and coolant crossover tube in a flat black, like rhino liner color and texture. Will plasti-dip work?

PLASTI-DIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!
Plasti-dip is more of a flat color texture. I actually spray Rhino for a living and you're not gonna get that texture. I would say I'd go ahead and throw the parts in the booth with a truck and spray them for you for next to nothing with actual Rhino, but Rhino is also only heat resistant to a certain extent. How hot should these parts get? I don't know how heat resistant Plasti-dip is.

I know the VCs get pretty hot, I'm sure the coolant crossover tube get hot too, probably around 200*+

Guess I could. I just like the plasti dip look, kinda like a rough, no gloss, deep black look. I like it black as I can get it. Know what I mean?!?!

I just figured some high heat matte black would be about the same. just spray some plasti dip on the valve cover and see how long it lasts. |

Powdercoat high temp stuff like that, it will last much longer and be more resistant to fuel, oil, coolant, etc.

Plasti-dip and higher than average heat does not mix...It will discolor after time.
Your best bet is to have them powder coated...I can powder coat them for pretty cheap and it will be the same flat black color. But you will have to wait till im back int he states in June. Hell you can drive up one morning, we can coat them and you can drive back that evening with your parts. |

What kind of valve covers do you have? If they are SBF style covers, they will be cheaper than say 4V modular covers. Do they need sand blasted or clean and prepped?
The crossover tube is simple... The biggest cost in powdercoating is the prep work...the more you do yourself, the cheaper it will be. If you bring me a bare part ready to coat, you can walk away at $50 or cheaper for both parts easily. I get back to town in Late may...I should have my work center ready for work the first or 2nd week of June at the latest. |

They are 4v covers off a 96 cobra. They are painted blue by the previous owner. When you're ready I'll pull em and sand them down bare

I have a small sand blaster we can use to get all the little pockets out of them...
Did you want to do a multi color type deal? Or just a single coat? |

Some people like to fill the letters with a different color so you can still read them...Last set of modular covers I did the guy had them done in the Ford blue with flat black lettering.
