Finally got the mini tubs finished up. Just have to do some more seam sealer and it will be good to go. We also put a bead around the torque boxes while we were in there.

Finished product.

It's hard for me to be in the garage with it having a three year old. I'm afraid I'll miss something. Good thing is she's likes working in it with me. Once it warms up I'll be able to saty knocking stuff out. I have to work on it with the door open and the car half way out at my house.

Dilbert and Philip have been a huge help. I've got a long way to go but I have really good friends helping me. Hope it rolls under its own power by next year.

After 3 nights and 2 days we have a cage! Heres some of the pictures ill load more later. I want to thank David Farlow (Boostfed86), Eric Gold of Piedmont Custom Motorsports and Blake Holcomb of Holcomb Motorsorts for helping me aquire parts and for the awesome work that was done. Also since the car was going by trailer we didn't remove the front glass cause we were worried about the hatch glass blowing out going down the highway. So Eric came up with the idea to tack the outriggers into place and once the cage was tacked we lowered them back through the floor which enabled us to get a full weld around every bar and made the tops a lot easier for them to weld. Once it was fully welded it was lifted back into place and the outrigger were welded into the through the floor subframe connectors.

Sold my doors for some manual crank window doors that I'm gonna take out the crash bar and Swiss cheese behind the door panel to lighten them up. Went ahead and took the whole front end off so I could do some cutting up front. Once the front bumper and fenders was off I could see the damage that cause it to be salvage title. The right front of the core support is pushed back pretty good and they did some rigging to make everything line up from the outside. Looks like I'm gonna cut everything off from the strut towers forward die to the damage on the right front and the rust under the battery tray on the left front.

Got the front end chopped off today so we can go tubular from strut towers forward. Probably going to leave the frame rail and run a bar from the dash bar out to the end of the rail and then build a lower crossmember/radiator mount. Here's some of the pics.

Before

After

Here's the pile of junk I've pulled off the car this week.

I also got to meet up with Ron Hamby a real cool guy who has been giving me some parts he's had laying around. An aerospace billet nitrous bottle bracket and part of a parachute mount. My buddy is going to help me fab the rest of it. Had to stick the mount on the car and pretend for a min.

Took the Windsor to work to pull the heads and pan to get a look a to everything and make sure nothing needed attention. Going to do the girdle, oil pan, head studs, and maybe a valley girdle but I get mixed opinions about them. I figure worst case it does nothing but it can't hurt to be there. The motor was super clean still from assembly 8 years ago. I figured up today it has about 15 miles on it and a good bit of idle time, you can still see sharpie writing from assembly.

I'm still a long way from where I want to be by next season and I know the block will be a ticking time bomb on the hit of nitrous I was planning. So next year I'm going to run the car in Performance Street on motor. It will help me get my suspension straightend out and I can save for a block and the nitrous system I want while still getting to play sooner. The shortblock and a head are going to the machine shop tomorrow. Were going to see if I have the option to run a thinner head gasket or deck my heads to get my compression up. I also traded hatches this weekend with Farlow (Boostfed86). Heres some pics of the wing on my car, I'm going to cut the sides down to about an inch above the center section. It rides alittle high for my liking.
