09 6.0 balance

Hello, I'm installing a new balancer on my 09 g8. Is there any particular location this balance needs to be put back on or just any spot it's fine. Reason I'm asking the directions in the box saying you need to mark the old balancer then mark the new balancer and put it back in the exact same spot is this true?? Help I'm new to this.
