My first Mustang
Hey HPJ gang.

Long time GM / Honda owner, but I just bought my first Mustang. I really picked it up for my daughter as a weekend toy who is turning 16 in December.

I'll be enjoying it over the summer while learning more about it and cleaning it up a bit.

2001 Laser red convertible with the 3.8 V6 and black leather interior / top.

69k original miles.
BBK intake
BBK 65mm throttle body
BBK headers in to x pipe with Magna flow mufflers with duals running out the back
New electric radiator fan
New Fuel and water pumps
Sequential tail lights
Hood struts replaced the prop rod

I think the wheels are off another year model. Not sure but they look ok with a couple rashes


@Mustang folks - tell me what you recommend to look for from a maintenance and longevity perspective. Hoping this will get her through high school and possibly beyond.

Picked up a color matched spoiler on Craigslist for $25 and mounted it up today.

Cleaned up the washable air filter and put in new spark plugs.

Picked up a little mpg

278 miles / 13.6 gallons = 20.4
