Car looks good Mike. I used to dislike this particular body style but I've sort of warmed up to it in the last few years. The all black trim and draglite wheels set it off nicely.

Took the gas tank off tonight, blew out all the lines, looked closely at the pickup cleaned everything and put back together, tore apart and cleaned out carb, installed a new fuel filter. Fingers crossed hope to get back to the track before its too hot!

What is a more realistic expectation of what this car should run?
I would imagine mid-11s or so....? |

yes mid 11's similar combo went 11.60 only difference is that combo had a slightly bigger cam 252-260 & 200cc Iron heads flowing 260 vs 246-252 & 220cc Alum. heads flowing 275 on this motor
I would be ecstatic with 11.45 @ 117ish but in reality first full pass anything in the 11's and I'll be happy with that as a starting point.

launched easy due to Nittos went 7.70 1/8 and 12.22 1/4 that's not too bad my last 3.55 started at 12.29 and wound up at 11.61 after tuning so all in all I'm happy made it there made it home!!!

have you clamped all the leafs together in the back? When i started making power i found the leafs were wrapping so far the axle tubes hit the frame (yes really) causing massive wheel spin. Since i clamped them together, the car hooks much better, and i haven't broken a pinion u joint either.

I think the carb is dialed in pretty good and I ordered some gears to get it wound up through the 1/4 ( 4.30's )

Very cool build. I like that you went a little different and didn't put an LS in it.
