Have not updated in a while. Since last post I had to replace the carb. My old carb had a stick float and was pouring gas everywhere. Had to get towed home from the downtown wake Forrest show. Anyway I was going to rebuild it but whoever previously rebuilt it used some sort of adhesive that reacted with the metal. It's garbage. I went with a new Holley 750 cfm. It's running great.

Since going with the aluminum radiator my fan has been hitting the shroud. Turns out I have a bigger fan then that shroud can really hold. Ac cars had a bigger radiator and bigger fan/ shroud. Well my car is a non ac car and has the smaller radiator and shroud but the bigger fan. Have no clue how the previous owner had that shroud on so it would hit the fan. Anyway ordered the correct fan, just have to install it.

Glad to hear it!
Mind me asking what your wash procedure is? I've had to switch to using quick detailer / microfiber towels as the rust is coming on strong.

![]() Update: the 455 has a bad cylinder, the number 6 cylinder has pretty significant damage to cylinder wall from possibly piston ring. Plan is to pull the motor and get it bored out and rebuild it. Honestly the engine is extremely clean except cylinder 6. I thought about putting a ls in it however you just don’t see a lot of 455s and I’m probably going to put a big cam in it and roll with this one. Had it 5 years on an unknown build I’m not sad about it. Pretty excited! Last edited by fast?yea; 04-18-2020 at 03:02 PM.. |

Did you get the engine work done? What all did you get into?

Yes, got it bored out .30 over because had some wall damage in cylinder number 7. All new valve train, roller cam, stock polished crank, new pistons. I had a machine shop do the machine work but the engine was built by me and my buddy. She’s a torque monster. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
