Vehicle 113 another Ford? Not a Mustang though.
Just picked up vehicle #113, this 69 Fastback Torino GT last night.
I need to pick her up Sat and take her home to wash the mold off of the outside. Even came with a complete new interior still in boxes, I was happy with the interior that is in it, he just wanted to change it from red to black inside. Been sitting there over a year ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Great job man, truly an inspiration to others! Wish I could stumble across rides the way you do.

Thanks guys.
Little back story, so this car was brought to my buddys house to fix some things that the owners friend had done. Horrible work. They had installed a shifter that passed through the floor and just hacked it bad, so bad the shifter was not solid, and made it difficult to shift because it was just flopping around. The car was all over the place because of warn springs and bushings. My buddy patched the shift hole, and installed a new shifter, then replaced front and rear springs, bushings, and shackles, etc. That's when he noticed some coolant in the oil. That's when the owners wife said, no more money, get rid of it. Car sits for another year, and this is where I come in and buy it. Pulled the cheap Chinese intake. (351 crate motor that had less than a year on it, and car was rarely used, so pretty much new) You can see the ports don't match up at all, and the witness marks on the water passage that one side pretty much had no seal.. A new intake fixed the water in the oil issue.. Old intake ![]() Witness marks ![]() New intake and gasket fit much better ![]() |

After getting the intake, the cheap chrome was rusty from the year of sitting outside.
I put on an air cleaner that I had in stock, and some $28 black summit valve covers. The AC compressor was touching the hood, you could see the top of the line cap was wearing on it. The pulleys were way out of alignment, and while aligning the compressor I noticed that there were 4 equally spaced mounting tabs, so simple solution, rotate compressor 90deg and tada, hoses come out the side, not the top, problem solved. Before rotation (Need to replace this dumb distributor) ![]() After ![]() Not pretty but better |

Now, last issue.. Rear end is making some odd noises.
Sounds like a warn out or improperly installed locker in the 9" I pulled the axles, and the axles and bearings are in perfect shape. I ordered a new 9" 3rd member for it this week. Will be here Tuesday. THEN I can start driving it (Perfect since the GTO don't have AC and this one does) Other than the noisy differential the thing drives GREAT!! |

Got the door panels, and window seals installed finally.
