Thumbs down Car magazines cancelled............

Sad day.
It appears the decision has been made to focus on digital print only and cease all actual printed media.

Here's some information -

https://www.foliomag.com/ten-publish...int-magazines/

Here’s a full list of discontinued titles:

4-Wheel & Off-Road
Automobile
Car Craft
Chevy High Performance
Classic Trucks
Diesel Power
Hot Rod Deluxe
Jp
Lowrider
Mopar Muscle
Muscle Car Review
Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords
Mustang Monthly
Street Rodder
Super Chevy
Super Street
Truck Trend
Truckin’
Vette

Today is a day we’ve all dreaded. With the exception of Motor Trend, Hot Rod, and Four Wheeler, TEN Publishing will cease the print products of its magazine brands. These titles will continue as web sites and social media accounts, and major investments are being made in digital, so the editors may keep their jobs to continue with that content. As a lifelong fan of print who made his career as a magazine editor, this is a devastating heartbreak of a day—but not a surprise. 19 magazines will stop being printed. This closure of print was not a decision made by the MotorTrend company. Also, this does not affect the MotorTrend app or online video.

Sucks. When we go to the mountains I would usually pick up a few copies to read.

Guess my Car Craft and Muscle Mustangs magazine subs will roll into my Hot Rod sub.
I still enjoy getting a magazine in the mail each month.
It wasn't that long ago when folks strived to get their car into a magazine. Now what is the point? For it to be on a digital web blog? Just doesn't seem to have the same impact.
I dunno.

I guess everyone assumes that you have cell service or internet everywhere now. I guess now before you get on a plane, you have to download your copy to read before you fly - or pay for the WiFi on the plane.

I agree TTSALEEN - that was a goal of many folks. Getting your car on the internet now is just a click away - that's easy. However, having a respected writer create the article that goes along with said picture in the Mag is not something you can just "click" into. I dunno, without the print version, who's going to care anymore?

I kind of wonder how long it will be before the whole high performance trend just completely dies out?

I had a guy from Car Craft show interest in my Pinto but my emails with him trailed off because I didn't have any dyno or track numbers yet. I guess I should have stayed on it.
