If that is a stock block that's a lot. Don't think it will hold much power but I'm no expert.

Don't worry about it being .060 over, the cylinders are thick enough to handle it. They started out .200-.250 thick and you only made them .030 thinner. Ive put thick wall 390 sleeves in 302 blocks and not even hit water on most of them. Double check the bore before you order pistons.

I had my block done after I already had pistons. If that had happened to me thaat would have been a big no go.

Is it possible it took .060 to clean it up good? I have ran a .060 302 in the past with no problems.

If it did the machine shop should of call and told him. My block needed to be bored 60 over in 2 holes, so I had them sleeved. .030 is a lot more user friendly than .060.

Yikes. I've hit water on a 1/8" wall 4" bore sleeve on a 302 before. I would never assume that all 302's start at .200-.250" thick, most that I've sonic checked had several thin spots down to .150" on standard bore.

Long story short, only way to know for sure is by sonic checking the block, but I get nervous on any SBF .040 or larger without sonic checking. Just all depends on how bad the core shift is and how lucky you got with your particular block.

They should have give you a buzz. But i would not be worried about the bore. And already said that is not but .030 out of the bore when you figure half the circle. Ive bord many .060 over blocks through the years. You could look at it like this, the biger the bore the more air flow your heads will move! one way to look.
