Already a pretty big thread about that car. Hopefully the builder has been stoned to death or hung by now.

haha thats fantastic. someone did something different with a car you see all the time at a car show. much better than a run of the mill 350 powering 99% of the 1st gen camaros out there. that thing sounds badasss too. quite a head turner and not what you expect it to sound like either. i would even put one of those in engines in the mustang if i had the cash

What a waste of a perfectly good engine and perfectly good car. Thats about as discusting to me as an LS1 in a rx7, nissan engine in a mustang or sbc in a supra. I dont mind mix and matching from import to import or domestic to domestic but I can think of 9000 engines that would have performed better and suited that car better than a 2jz. Just my oppinion obviously

I would drive it all day....just for the "love hate" it instills in people...I'd rather do it to a Hemi Cuda and watch 2/3rds of the Barret-Jackson attendance fall dead.

Its a clean swap but just does not do it for me. Wrong sound coming out of a car like that.

I got nothing against that engine... I just think it's a shame that it went into such a classic car.

I think it's very cool. However, it would disappoint me if they don't have a factory motor stored away. If I change something I try my best to do it and leave the ability to return to stock if need be. There are a lot of people that have a very hard time accepting things that are different...I am all for it!

Hasn't that already happened ALOT? I've heard about so many rx-7s and miatas and other small jap cars with LS1s.

nahh not really. i've wanted to do a 5.0 miata for a while now.

As far as the car is concerned, I can understand wanting to be different.

But WTF is up with the dual colored rims?

I think it is pretty cool and obviously unique...

but I would rather have a big V8 with a chopping cam in that old school muscle car.

The general consensus is it's ok to put a Chevy motor into a different brand car, but it's not ok to put a different brand engine in a Chevy car.

I used to hate engine swaps because to me it made the car lesser, but as I've seen more and more of them, I guess that now I can appreciate them if they are done right.

That one is done right.

Now I know how people in Japan must feel when we drop LS1's in RX7's and 240s But I really dont see a problem with it and find it cool as hell when somebody like that thinks outside the box on something like that. And im sure the car was restored with that, so its not like it was an all original 2000 mile car that he did that too, so he really didnt ruin a car, took a ruined car and made it a lot better, just my 2 cents
