Mike moran 6.01@250

Mike did it again this past weekend. Claiming his place at the top of the turbo pro mod hill. 6.01 at 250.88 mph at the Clash of the Titans World Finals in Texas.

Was just getting ready to post up but Pete beat me to it, but I think the MPH was just 195. Get this though, Mikes 60 ft. was just a 1.06. Imagine what would happen if he could really launch the thing!

That's just retarded man. How the hell am I ever going to consider my car "quick" when guys like Mike Moran are damn near breaking the sound barrier.

I was speaking in relative terms to pro mods. Generally speaking, it takes approximately a 3.91 (+/- a little) to run a 5.9999999 in the 1/4. In order to get that 1/8th time most guys are having to cut .995-.989 60' times. That is why the terms "just" and "nothing spectacular" were used, to emphasize the amazing back half number that Mike made with this car.

Point being, if he could actually get the car to launch (the car is about a 10 year old or so PRO STOCK single frame rail chassis IIRC) and get the 60' down that 1.98 backhalf number would likely have him somewhere in the low 5.90-upper 5.80 range.

And yes, the space shuttle is an amazing machine as well.

What the hell man? The run is even more spectacular because his 60 was so "unspectacular". What is so hard to understand about that?

So you are saying, the run as a whole was spectacular except for the 60ft, 330ft, 1/8 mph, 1/8 et,...i get it.

Yup. Promods usually run better times in the eigth. No harm no foul.

UPDATE!

Mike ran a 5.97 @ 250 MPH yesterday afternoon at South Georgia Motorsports Park. First turbo car in the 5's, and first EFI car in the 5's as well.

From what I've been told, it was a slack 1.03 60' and 3.99 at the 1/8th.
