Dakota Amarok

So I needed a truck with 4 doors so we bought this.

But I wanted it to not get 16mpg so then bought this.

And ended up with this.

That's creative...I just planted a 360 Magnum in my Gen I Dakota, so I went the opposite route...I wanted less mpg

Russell has no rep around here.
How does it drive? I had a 03 TDI thought it was ok in the VW but never thought it would be worth swapping into a larger vehicle. I would love to know what it took for nazis to aprove it.

It drives awesome. Still working on a few things but have answers for all of them just need time o knock the list down. Next is 4.11 gears as the 3.55 are just a hair to tall making 5th useless until about 75MPH. Stock the ALH made 90HP. now its over 180hp and over 300ftlbs at 1800rpm and revs to 5K. More torque than the 4.7 I yanked out.

Did my first fill up yesterday.

I filled it a quarter tank just to check my modified float arm to make sure its accurate.

Since I have no speedo yet I am estimating I drove right at 500 miles and filled it 19.1 gallons. So at 26mpg I am really happy as this tank had multiple WOT pulls for logging and quite a bit of idling. Once I get my part throttle fueling issue fixed it can only go up. Tuner should have that modified and back to me soon I would think.

Thanks the more I drive this thing the more I like it. I have been involved in a few swaps and I am close to saying this might be my favorite. Its also been fairly inexpensive. I have really enjoyed passing the gas pumps for the past 2 weeks.

So time for a fuel mileage update. This is the first full tank I have run through with my speedo/odo working and it seems I was missing a few miles on my previous calculations.

Ran it down just below a 1/4 full and got 603.8 miles. Now factor in oversized tires that are 3.41% taller than stock then factor they are bald so worst case my correction needs to add 1.5% so 613.8 miles divided by 21.1gallons is 29.09 MPG. Im very happy with that.
