89 GT Ford in a Ford

I'm just starting to gather parts for my build on my 89 GT. My dad owned this car and we were talking about what we wanted to do and what his end result would be. My dad passed away June 12 from colon cancer so now I'm finishing our project with the help of some close friends and their fabricating skills. I'd like to run 275 true street with this car I know it won't be real competitive with its current setup but its what I have and it's a foot in the door. The current engine combo is a 418W that will be on the bottle (I'd like to boost it but not in the budget for this year). Right now the car is 100% factory and I've pulled the 5.0 and swapped the k member for my tubular upr setup out of my vert. Ill start posting pics and updates as I get them on the computer. Hope to have the car ready to run in the spring.

Full interior on motor (haven't sprayed it yet), wife in the car and leaving off idle because I didn't want to twist car in half it went 7.18. I figure in a 3000lb car on a .82 jet I can get semi close to where I want to be. If not ill just grude race till I can afford a better setup lol

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AfUgC7YGdgw it's actually 7.22@95 the pass with my wife. It was too much in car that wasn't setup to handle it but it was fun the few times I took it out. It will better serve its purpose in the GT.

Swapping the k members and pulling the windsor putting vert back to street duty with a 347.

Got the k member and coil overs out in the car last weekend.

Yesterday I picked up some 03 GT spindles, calipers, rotors, and pads for my front 5 lug swap and I figure the twin piston PBR calipers stop alittle better than the factory fox ones. Just finished turnin the rotors and painting them up a work this morning.

Sorry for the loss of your Dad. Cancer sucks. I lost my Dad last year from colon cancer that had spread to his bones. It was hard watching him go through that knowing that he would more than likely lose the fight. He fought till the end though.

Good luck on your build. It looks like you are off to a good start.

Thanks 63Falcon. We found out the last day of April. No symptoms and had spread to his liver. Cancer sucks I'm just going to keep on with the project like he was here and how we talked about doing it.

I haven't been able to work on the car. Been dealing with bday party planning for my 3 year old. But I did get the hook up from my buddy boostfed86 in some hand me down nitrous and fuel parts that he didn't need for his build. I also have to finish my 347 to go in my convertible before I can start hacking this one up. The wife doesn't really like two rollers hanging around so I'm gonna finish up the easiest one first lol.

Been awhile, still no actual progress on the car still parts collecting. As soon as I get the convertible running and out of the garage the work can start.
