NICE! good to see some old school mopar around here. i just started yanking the motor for another build in my duster. shooting for ~450hp this time around out of the 340. it's probably got a tired ~350hp now on late 80's tech, my dad did the last build.

Oil pan clearance.....not too shabby..

Header to ground clearance....kinda scary like my duster...the collector flanges will be cut off though, I have some collector slip-ons that connect the headers to the rest of the exhaust.

Got my water pump today....sad part is, it's gonna be a bitch to mount. Looks like there's plenty of room, right? Wrong. I've got to send some of the fittings back so I can get some 150 degree fittings to replace the 90's that I bought.

I've got to have some bungs welded into the radiator and have the upper hose piece cut off and welded up. I hope to be at that point by mid next week.

I tell you what, by the time I install the alternator, the vacuum pump, the cooling system, and plumb the fuel system, that is going to be one full engine bay.....

LOL! Looks like you had to almost shoehorn that big motor down in there to! It looks like it's gonna have a damn good stance to it too, just by looking at the last pic.

What the hell is that on top of the motor???????

Well, the ol' throttle body looks at home on top of the ol' mill..... No more carb for me......

Haven't decided on what to do about the intake yet....Edelbrock makes a Victor that has the bungs and fuel rails, almost a bolt in deal. Still have not got my 42 lb injectors yet, but I got to sell a couple more things first....

Did some sand blasting the other day too.....just covered it up with some flat black to keep it from rusting...

The firewall is going to need some massaging to say the least...she's got lots of holes and couple dents here and there....

Holley commander 950. If that doesn't work like I want, then I'll go MegaSquirt.

The largest I'll throw at it will be 300. I'm wanting to stay with 200....maybe a progressive system too. A 200 hit to an engine with that much torque = wheelstand and no rear bumper anymore.....lol.

If the progressive 300 doesn't do it, then it's time to sell the short block, build another one and put the ol' F1R on there with some PSI's. If that won't make it a low 9 high 8 second car, nothing will...
