Garage door opener recommendations?

My openers work absolutely fine but are 25 years old and the security is outdated. Planes flying overhead can set them off, people with unprogrammed homelinks can press a button and open both doors.

I'm to the point that I have too much money laying in the garage to ignore the problem, daughter came home from school yesterday and one door was open.

What're ya'll running, what would you recommend?

Preciate any info, or if there's a way to update my openers?

Liftmaster/Chamberlain is the best on the market. 8500 Jackshaft is probably the best followed by a belt drive then lastly a chain. The chain is the least expensive option but not bad by any means. Its a tad louder than a belt. The 8500 and belts come with Wi-Fi built in so you can connect them to your internet. It will tell you if the door is up,down or how long it has been either. And you can open it up and close it anywhere with your smart phone

Agreed...lift master is what I have on my workshop garage doors. I have a double traditional over head and a direct drive side unit on my lift door.

This is similar to the setup I have as well, direct drive on the side with the lift and traditional overhead on the other. Liftmaster on both.

Preciate it guys, there's retro fit kits out there that update the wireless setup, I'm looking into them.

I have a craftsman I could sell you. It works fine but I had to switch to a different type because my door had to go straight up.
