Took the cutoff wheel to my motorcycle

I bought this 2006 Yamaha V Star 1100 in 2006.

Added drag bars and lowered it.

Added new pipes. Saddle bags came and went. Passenger seat came and went too.

I still wasn't happy with the way the bike looked. So one day I had some time off from work and started stripping parts off the bike.

Then I made marks on the frame...

I always thought I would have a hard time cutting a perfectly good, running motorcycle. But technically, it wasn't actually running at this point in time. So I got the angle grinder out and let it eat. Probably not the preferred tool, but it's what I had...

I bought big K&N RU-0600 filters and put bigger jets in the carbs

Cut up a trailer spring for a seat mount

My goal is to have it ride-able before the Ray Price Bikefest. Hopefully sooner. And hopefully it turns out half as cool as Blue70's bike projects do..

Man, that rear fender was HUGE!

I have not thought to use a trailer spring as a seat mount. You'll have to let me know how that rides. I like where you are going with it so far

Looks good but you better know carbs real well to get it to run with those filters. The factory air box and the vacuum slides play a big part with each other.

No updates. Trying to cram a week long project into a three month time frame...
I do appreciate the feedback. I'll post more pictures when it happens.

No real updates. Just excuses lol. I did push it from the garage to the shed.
Turns out I didn't have as much free time this summer as I thought I was going to have. I started working second shift a few weeks ago. Hopefully I can start spending a few hours a week on the bike and be able to show some progress before it gets too cold out. Since Ray Price's Bikefest is this weekend, I guess I kind of missed that deadline lol.
