Talking 2008 Pontiac G8 GT - New Project!

I figured I would start an actual Junkie thread instead of continuing to post in the "Wanted to buy" section. LOL.

Sunday, May 10th, I purchased a 2008 Pontiac G8 GT.
This car is Liquid Red and has the Premium & Sport package installed.
That package includes the 19" wheels, leather seats, and FE2 suspension.

I bought this off a 60 year old lady in Greer, SC. She had no idea that it was modded. LOL! She only owned it a few months after helping her son to buy it. Long story short, he left and she was stuck with this car.
I got a killer deal on it! Only 87k miles showing and a CLEAN carfax.

Here's what I found it has done to it so far -
Magnaflow mufflers
Roto-Fab cold air induction kit
Lowering springs (blue - not sure of brand)
Debadged (only 1 Pontiac emblem on trunk)
Shark fin antenna mounted on roof
Tinted windows
All LED lighting on the inside

I plan to install stock springs and new struts soon. It is too low for my tastes. Looks good, but gotta raise it up some.

I plan to research the L76 engine and put together some killer mods to get as much naturally aspirated power I can out of it.
Next will be changing the rear gears from the factory 2.92 to something a bit more aggressive.

I wanted this car back in 2010 and almost bought one, but I ended up buying my 2008 GT500 instead.
I just sold my 2003 Mach 1 project last week, so the timing was perfect to get into this car.

Here's some pics for the start of the project!

Ryan

Day I picked it up.

Ok, you've bought a GM product, which must mean it is time for me to go buy a Ford.

Oh wait................

Thanks. It will be once I get a chance to correct the paint. Overall not bad, but I've only clay barred it so far.

Congrats Ryan!

G8's are good looking cars, one of the few newer GM's that I would own.

Now I am gonna have to try to get my G8 as clean as yours. Two Mustang guys, both with G8's. That's what it takes to get a fun American V8 sedan.

It's so red! Congrats and welcome to the Light Side.

The blue springs could be Lovell brand. They are very popular with the Aussie built cars.

Autoscrub pad on a 3401; funny enough, I saw that exact same combo last night. I'm continuously amazed by how well it works compared to an old-fashioned clay bar.

Anyway, DOD delete kit, cam, and headers! Do it!

So far I'm looking at the following mods -

Camaro 3.45 Limited-slip differential swap
Kooks 1-7/8" long tube headers & X-pipe kit
Ported throttle body & intake
Custom tune

Later on -

Custom cam
ported/milled heads
convertor upgrade

I really like mine too, the only problem that I have run into is the strut bushings and front control arms. Are you porting the stock intake and TB?

Beautiful car! I love how all if your builds start. Small list of mods paint correction, pine tree air freshener, three months later they're boosted and winning car shows lol. Congrats on the purchase
