104 - Wifes unplanned 56

My car club put on a show this past weekend. While at the show an old man who frequents the shows mentioned he had a 56 Beauville Bel-Air Wagon for sale. My wife LOVES wagons.

Guy said that he took it in trade, but the man he got it from says it runs (265 V8 with a powerglide) but in his current health condition he has not been able to verify that, and just let it sit.

When he told me he wanted $2500 I left the show to go look at the car, and returned with a deposit. Monday I got the rest of the $ and a trailer and brought her home. This weekend I hope to get a real good look at her and see what it is that I have here.

Anyone need some GTA wheels? lol

Got the harness thinned. New fuse block, and OBDII port came today, so I can wire those in along with a few relays.

Also got a new oil pan that SUPPOSED to fit today.

Still need some motor mounts, and transmission crossmember before I drop it in.

After it's in I still will need to get the computer reprogrammed, and come up with a fuel system before I can start it.

What pan did you go with?

Not sure if your tank is ok or you're going new? If new, I'm running a Tanks Inc setup, but unsure if they'd have anything for the wagon.

I could help with programming, but am not an expert at it, enough to be dangerous.

Do you have the stuff to do it? What are you using?

I have been debating against having it done for $75. Buying HPTuners $400 with 1 vehicle unlocked, or $600 for unlimited 99-07 Silverado 4.8, 5.3, 5.7, 6.0, 8.1s

I've got hptuners, would cost $100 for the credits as I got the cheaper version. Credits are $50/ea, 2 needed for GM.

So, last weekend I got everything wired up and ready to fire.. Turned over and over and over... nothing.. then cylinder #1 started firing, then #4 started firing and that was it.

When I pulled the intake I had noticed that there was a lot of hard dark honey colored stuff on the bottom of the injectors, I had cleaned it off, but was worried that there was a bunch of bad fuel gummed up inside the injectors, I cleaned off the bottoms but was kind of half expecting this.

This weekend I put in a new set of injectors and it fired right up! First time hearing it run, and it sounds good. Now I need to wrap it all up and build an exhaust for it, but it is getting close..

I also put on the new wheels and tires. The wife would not budge on the white walls. Cost a lot, but she loves them.

It's ALIVE!! First time moving under it's own power in 21 years.
Wife is super excited that her car drives now! Don't mind the wires coming out of the hood. Have to hotwire it to start it right now. Just picked up a new ignition switch this afternoon.

Quick link to it's first time moving out of the garage.
