Next Junkie Project Idea?

Idle Minds are the Devil's playfield....

Having finished up the Dakota convertible restoration/engine swap, I'm in the early stages of looking for the next project. I like the unusual, not so common, a little speed, and quirky. Pre ODBII a must, and preferably no ecm at all (or at least one I can rip out). No 60's muscle...been there done that. Not opposed to foreign, but no run of the mill BMW/Merc/Jag, etc.

As an example, there's a 1980 Citroen convertible on CL...There's a UK company that makes a kit to put a 1200cc BMW motorcycle engine into it. That's unusual and quirky.

There's a 1984 Dodge Rampage (cross between a car and truck) on CL. I could put some kind of Dodge SRT turbo into it.

I could do an LS1 swap into something, but Nissans and Celicas have been done to death.

Ideas??

My first car was an 85 plymouth turismo, where I really learned to hate Chrysler products.

That being said, mopar used to make a V8 k-member for those series cars, including the Dodge Rampage, Chrysler Scamp, Plymouth whatever. They also used to make stroker kits for the 2.2L and bolt on turbo stuff as well. It was pretty well covered, just too expensive for a high school kid.

I've seen a few turbo omni that were quirky, fun sleepers. The glh omni used to be found for pretty cheap but they're pretty dried up now.

Dodge Aspen with a big turbo 4g63 would be unique.
