Looks good Ryan, hate the dbw setup, you can't blip the throttle from the engine bay anymore!

Got the Hooker Super Competition Maxflow mufflers today off an Ebay sale.
Installed and immediately loved them!

Can't wait to hear them when they carbon up, should get deeper.

Do you have hptuners? If so I can send you my tune, you can copy the throttle follower and cracker settings. It'll drop the rpm quicker when you let off the throttle from a rev so it doesn't take so long for it to come down.

Sounds great!

Actually quieter than I thought it would be, but has a nice deep tone, perfect for the 'family' sedan!
Do you get any drone or resonance at cruising speeds?

No drone or problems at all!
I did go to R&J's in Apex today to have them weld up my x-pipe. Those crimp bands supplied with the headers didn't seal for shit.
Now it is much better. However I think my driver side header gasket is leaking a small bit. I heard it tonight in a drive-thru.
I reused the factory metal ones, so I guess they compressed too much from age.
Will get some new factory ones and replace this week.

BTW - Those 3.45 gears and the exhaust really woke this thing up. It is peppy now! LOL.

Few updates -

Had an appointment with Rick Crawford to tune my G8 last weekend.
Unfortunately, Rick was unable to access my computer as it turns out, I have a tune already loaded and it is locked.

Bad part is I didn't receive anything with the car and I believe it was at least 1 or 2 owners back that did the work.
So I had to buy a new computer and get it flashed back to stock.

New replacement computer showed up this week.
Got an appointment tomorrow with Rick Crawford to get it installed and tuned.

Also scored some CTS-V polished wheels!
19-9 front and 19-9.5 rear (sedan fitment)

Man, I keep viewing this thread. The car I found for 11k was obviously a fluke and I missed out by not buying it. My ear is to teh ground looking for one now!

LOVE your build. Keep some of these spare and extra parts for your favorite insurance agent!

I may of missed it, but have you deleted DOD yet?

Chris - Let me know what you might need. I also know of a REALLY nice G8 for sale. Check the g8nation website. It's Charlie's old car (red with Camaro wheels) and super clean.
http://www.g8board.com/forums/showthread.php?t=214177

I still have stock cam with DOD. Plan to replace heads and cam later on with Rick's recommendations.

So here's my new computer!

And here's the new LS7 mass air meter installed along with the new computer.

Rick Crawford working his magic with the laptop on my tune (HP Tuners).

I will have to say that Rick is very knowledgeable about tuning with HP Tuners and the ins & outs of the G8. I got to ride along with him during the entire tuning session and watch him adjust the timing, air fuel, transmission shift points, etc. until he achieved his desired air/fuel ratio, transmission shift feel, and overall driveability.

Based on my unknown tune that was locked upon arrival, Rick's tune is MUCH smoother and FAST! The car feels like it picked up a bunch of power and the transmission no longer is confused about how to shift unlike the unknown tune I had.

I appreciated Rick taking the time tonight to tune it in and get it right.
He also let me hear 2 of the cars he's working on so I could get an idea of my next mods (cams/heads).

Truly a professional and I can say I would highly recommend him for any G8 work.

Ryan

First off, nice ride! I've always been a fan of those cars.

I know several guys with G8s, ranging from mostly stock to a low 10 second supercharged car. All of them are tuned by Rick, and they all talk very highly of him. It's rare that I go to Fayetteville and not see him out there tuning a customer's car on the track. Now THAT'S the mark of a tuner that wants it done right!

Good luck with the car. Looking forward to seeing how it all turns out (we all know you'll have a twin turbo kit on it or something crazy before you're done with it ).

Big thanks to Wesley at Pep Boys in Fuquay-Varina for installing my new tires onto the CTSV wheels today.
Balanced perfect and almost no weights needed on each wheel!

Old & new -

285-35 goodness!

Changes the whole look of the car.
Traction is GREATLY improved and barely spins from a dig!

Nope. Just bought those center caps brand new. I like the look.
Plus I've been told that "I think it's a Cadillac" so just wait till I put "V" emblems on it after the supercharger. LOLOLOL

So my wife wanted to drive the GT500 tonight and my neighbor Jason (Hookandgo) arranged for us to go to dinner.

So my daughter and I drove the G8 and had a ball.
