I read that and just thought, "hey lets try to save money and put on a race and not have to prep the track, yeah we can spin this as a street car race!"

Is the track prep always bad? Can't say I've ever been there but I'd like to stretch the legs on the new build...say mid 9's at 150+ with a soft launching stick car.

The flyer is pretty vague but i'd have to imagine if they just say street tire and don't have restrictions on it, you can carry anything with DOT approved on it. Sometimes you should stop reading into things too much.

It catches a bad rap here, but me and pretty much every person I personally know runs better times at Rockingham than at Fayettnam.

I remember when the Draggin' Rights was there a couple years ago, and all everyone talked about was how bad the track was. But when I went back and looked at the videos I took, there was a half dozen cars pulling the tires off the ground (some of them heavy ass manual cars). Hell, one car (hitman) pulled the back tires! I think I remember some radial tire cars there in the 4s on that day, too.

No question the Rock is faster than Fayetteville, .12 for me. It is just hard for a car that wants to run the full 1/4 mile to find a day that the track is decent since all the races are run on the 1/8 mile.

I just don't understand how prepping the first 150 ft can cost that much. Definitely bring in more cars. As far as those street car races, a track with no prep is slicker than racing on a bare street.

Fayetteville is no prize regarding traction either. I have only been there once or twice when it hooked out of around 7 times.

Talked with Steve at Rockingham, No power adder has to be street tire. Not DOT Drag Radials. You can however run drag radials on the power adder classes. As far as tech and what is allowed as a street car is yet to be determined.
