Cool New shoes for the 454SS

Wife bought a new set of tires for the truck, Nitto NT555 G2. 245/45-20 for the front and 295/40-20 for the rear. These are replacing Nitto 420S 245/45-20 and 285/40-20. Very few options in the 285 size and also a little bit of work to find matching tires in the size difference. The fronts are easy, the rears are a very tight fit! I already had to message the rear fender lips to clear the 285's. I am going to have to trim them now to make sure there is plenty of room back there!

They do fill out the wheel well quite nicely!

sorry it was late when we got home and I just took a quick pic. I'll get some in the next day or so.

Cool

Here is a side shot of the rear wheel/tire. Still have to put the center cap back in.

I also modified the fender lip a bit to make more room...

I sliced the lip in three places and then bent and rolled the edge up, I might have to move it more.

I have a jack stand under the frame so I had some room to work.
I did hit the cut areas with some black paint after I took this pic.

Wow that sucker better stick now! I know the weight bias isn't favorable, but man that's as close to full width as you can get!
