Reconstructing the SS

This is simply going to be the recostruction of the SS after the bad Driveshaft breaking incident in a pretty short amount of time seeing as I can only work on it at night and have to get the car in TOP shape by Autofair, which is April 13th.

The car is stripped of all its broken parts and have some goodies on the way.

We already have

-BMR Torque Arm

-T56 rebuild parts that include, steel shift fork, new carbon sychro ring kit, billet slider keys, and 1-2, and 3-4 Bronze fork pads

-Flywheel turned

-Spec 2+ clutch

-Used bellhousing

So far coming is

-Denny's Nitrous ready driveshaft

-Exhaust is being repaired by Stump(Chris) at Henry's muffler in Raleigh

Still need

-T56 tailshaft housing

Pics and documentation of the repair process will be here soon!

Sounds like you might want to put a safety loop on there too.

Thanks Dan. A friend of ours is setting it up for us.

We got the drag wheels of and more importantly the hole is fixed and NO metal was used, although lots of beating and welding was.

Dusty is weilding the welder better and better! That sheetmetal is THIN!

I'll get some pictures tomorrow. .

The Spec 2plus also came in yesterday and it looks pretty BADASS! Solid kevlar on 1 side for good street manners and pucked on the other side to grab and go!

It should be up and running Saturday. That way I have a few days to clean before we leave for Autofair and BOY does it need it!

Glad to hear the hole was fixed without having to add alot to it. I am sure you and Dusty were both pretty happy about that.

Will this thread include the reconstructing of the trailer too?

Got a few more things done today. The Spec 2+ clutch is in. Notice how one side is full faced, while the other side has pucks. This clutch maintains the feel of a stock style clutch, but holds 620 lb/ft of torque. The disc is made of a composite multi-friction carbon-kevlar material.

Got the floorpan stitched back up

Spec installed

Decided to go ahead and put some subframes in

Thanks to Chris of Stump's Customs for fixing the Y-Pipe
