The PatriotDream.org 67 Camaro project

For those of you who don't know, we're building a 68 Camaro for my brother-in-law who is serving in the Army in Baghdad for the next year or so. He'll ba back June 11th. We've gotten donations from all over, and some of these parts are just awesome! Here's the specs on the car:

68 Camaro
Late model Gen III 5.3L shortblock donated by Strictly Performance, cleaned up and rebuilt by HRT performance
5.3L heads milled, 3-angled, and mild porting by HRT Performance
Comp Cams Xtreme RPM (grind undecided)
Painless HI-RPM kit donated my Painless Performance
T56 6-spd with pedal covers from Modo Innovations, clutch donates by SPEC
Stock interior with a custom shift boot for the T56 by Lightning Custom and seats donated by TA Specialties(78ta.com)
Complete LS1 brake system, slotted/drilled rotors donated by RotorsOnline
Upgraded suspension system (undecided components)
Aftermarket 17" wheels (undecided)
RS grille with hidden headlights
Car will be red with white hockey stick stripes, black interior, and electric blue powdercoated calipers.

We are going to do a frame off-resto on this car. AutoTwirler has donated a rotisserie and we're gonna strip every inch and build this thing into a killer ride.

hpierce301 posted about this in the De=n and I've been updating that theead, but I thought I'd make a dedicated thread and update this one instead. Here's the original thread: http://www.horsepowerjunkies.com/for...d.php?p=713999

Almost all the work will be done at my house up in North Raleigh. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I sure will. The car is coming out of Arizona, so it will be a little while before it gets here, but I'll post up tons of pics once it does.

SVTCobra347 has no rep around here.
Looks like a pretty cool deal. Lucky bastard. Anybody wanna donate a Keith Craft built Dart block 347 Stroker crate motor for a guy who is over here for 15 months??? lol.

What branch is the guy in? There's a pretty good number of deployed guys on the boards here...

How about you?

SPEC Stage 2 clutch and Billet steel flywheel graciously donated by SPEC Clutch!

It is down to the wire here guys and there is still no car. Something always seems to happen when we find a car, and it is getting down to the wire. PLEASE keep your eye out for a 67 or 68 for $2500 or less. The last one a guy I know bought the car out from under me, knowing what I needed the car for.

Thanks CE! We actually bought a car today around lunch time!

68 with a clean title and most of the metalwork already done! Plus comes with a ton of go-fast goodies and trick suspension parts and is a complete car (well, was before he started working on it, but I get all the parts!)

He's done more work since these pictures, but at least it gives you an idea!

And the before shot:

We also got our engine in today. Strictly Performance donated the engine and NPD had it delivered to us on one of their trucks. Heading to HRT Performance this week to start the rebuild.

I can't remember what he told me they were. I do know they are custom widened and have a set of 315s sitting on there.

Custom show plate and cowl hood panel donated by Undercover Innovations. These things are NICE! They're gonna look great on the car. Pardon the terrible pictures, I am in the process of reorganizing and laying new floor down in the shop for the arrival of the Camaro and it is a mess in there!

and some LS6 springs and LS1 injectors I purchased off of LS1tech.com
