It's a shame OUR media doesn't know how to keep their mouths shut. A very small instance of "abuse" which is totally overrated, is blown WAY out of proportion and skewed by our media to make us look horrible.
Should it have happened? No. Should the people be punished. Yes. Were things done that were much worse prior to us taking over? Think about it...
I'll probably get in on a long read rant later tonight after a few hundred beers, but now you get the short version. :)
Heard a soldier in the barbershop today asking everyone there to please not believe half of what we are seeing in the news, as they are making things worlds better over there, and almost all of the people are happy they are there. He got emergency leave due to the birth of his daughter, but was headed back out soon.

Just look at the treatment our soldiers get treated when they are captured. I know 2 wrongs do not make a right but you have to understand the mentality of someone who is under constant stress as they are. Personally I think they should just pave the whole damn country. Can anyone remember the pictures that were posted here a couple weeks ago? The civilian security workers attempting to get aid into Fallujah. They were ambushed and captured, where did they end up? Hanging from a fucking bridge burnt to a crisp with kids laughing and cheering underneath there bodies. FUCK them all. They should be pulling little kids fingernails out with fucking plyers in front of their parents to get answers.

The media pisses me off, dramatizing it and turning it into an international fucking ordeal... We have what 200-300,000 troops over there? and thousands of prisoners... statistically speaking if only a handful of fuckups happen, we're doing pretty damn good! Not to mention I don't believe a word of any of that BS I hear on the news anyway, I don't think you can know what REALLY goes on in a situation like that unless you are THERE. The liberal media jumps at any chance to dramatize something and embarass the President, and hurts the nation in the process.

they new that what they were doing was wrong... or at least not allowed. they fucked up and should be disciplined accordingly. should it be reported, yes. should it be dramatized, no.

If you get off on standing next to naked, smelly, hairy Iraqi men in sexual positions with their ass staring at you, then you have issues. If you shove a chemlight up one of their asses, you are a fag, period. I read that they were forced to do a circle jerk. My god. I would have thrown up if I had seen that stuff in person. I'm sure those prisoners aren't exactly altar boys. Shoot them in the face and say they tried to attack you, but that homo stuff is sick. That one chick is locked up at Ft. Bragg. She is pregenant by the guy she is in the pics with. Gender intergrated military, what a joke. Thankfully I don't have to deal with that in the infantry.

The things those people did were plain messed up - must have issues if the ideas didn't come from someone in psyops to demorilize them.
Now to the media. Our media plain does not give a shit. All they want are headlines, and the added bonus is hammering on a republican president near campaign time. They just piss me off. They don't even care about the nation as a whole. I don't understand them at all.

If you don't want the media to overdramatize, don't do stupid shit. What those soldiers did was stupid and counterproductive. They shed a negative light on the rest of our troops. And BTW,liberal AND conservative media both overdramatize. That is why the media has turned into 80% entertainment and 20% news.

Definately FUCK the media first but lack of respect for a human being pisses me off. While at war, I would be the first to saw your ass in half. Once you are a prisoner of war, I would treat you with the respect of being a human being, even if you are not. You have your agenda for war. Otherwise, what makes who the better man? They fucked up and I hope they end up in Kansas and get ass reamed themselves. The actions of a few can cause alot of problems for the masses. Fucktards! We are the first to preach about rules of war and then this shit happens. Makes us look like a bunch of fuckin hipocrites. I have no problem with kill em all and let god sort them out but lets not tolerate that kinda shit.

It is a lil blown out of proportion with THESE pictures but I'm sure worse shit goes on. Its war. It isn't supposed to be pretty. This kinder gentler shit is getting old and we're looking soft. Anyone remeber the pic of the Marine with two iraqi kids and a sign that say "LCpl Boudreaux kill my dad and knocked up my sister?" They are trying to charge the guy for THAT. Gimme a fucking break. Its a prank and a DAMN funny one at that. Like those kids are ever going to know shit about it. I really can not wait to get out of the Marines next year and take "my" time to sit back and no long give a shit for a lil while.
