07 Mustang GT Header Mid Pipe Question

Long tube header / mid pipe question for you. I am probably going to purchase Kooks Long Tube Headers with their catted X Pipe. From what I'm told, the high flow cats will still 50% of the time cause you to fail OBDII testing.

So my question is this, could the high flow cats be cut out and my stock cats get welded into the Kooks Mid Pipe. Or better yet, could a custom mid pipe be made with my stock cats to bolt up to the Long Tubes and the rest of the Piping?
