been a crazy day...i got a call around 6 that the house across the street burned down and totaled the next door house.

I got home(and what is worse i got a flat tire on the truck on the way there...and i had to leave it and will get it in the morning) and luck would have it that the Supra was ok except for the car cover was blown off from the storming. the siding on the front of our house is melted. A woman from NBC17 was trying to interview the fire chief and it started raining so they used our garage to interview him.

Of course, i left the camera at my office:dammit:. I did get a couple of pics with the camera phone although one is blurry.

Our one neighbor said that it was fireworks that went off in the garage. The builder foreman for the neighborhood happened to come by and see the fireworks going off and the fire starting and he got the kids out of the house since they were in there. By the time the fire department got there the house was totally in flames.

EDIT(disclaimer): are stupid neighbor (i dont think) knows what he is talking about...i figured someone would verify by it by now...it probably wasnt fireworks that went off in the garage. just whatever started it...i guess the professionals will determine the cause

anyways, now i have to get up early and go get the truck...im tired

Damn .... were there any fire trucks that were not called out ....
i talked to one of the first firemen that got there and he said when they pulled up it was so hot that they had to back up the truck a ways so they could get out. he said there was another fire somewhere in western wake county and only 4 of them were actually at the station when the call came. That is why there was other fire departments that were called on...evidently every department in the area responded...lol

i didnt get to sleep till around 2 and they were out there this morning at 6 spraying the house again for "hot spots":dammit:

they had the cops babysitting the place all night so at least we were the safest neighborhood around last night.

ill let y'all know when i know more of the story. BTW, Rolesville fire chief is a nice guy...he was out there this morning. I think he did a good job doing what he could to save the houses.

Wow...that was a lot of damage. :damn: There were a TON of firetrucks in that neighborhood. I guess they were scared the whole damn neighborhood was going to catch fire. :ohnoes:

was talking to my boss this morning and found out that it was his niece's house. bad news is that they had two dogs in the house and both of them didnt make it.........that really sucks!!!!!!!!

supera
08-22-2007, 11:38 AM
yeah...two of the dogs were small beagles or something that would stand at the front door storm window and bark at anything and everything. the daughter would walk one or both at different times down the street.

EDIT: heard from someone...the dog that made it was the families next door at the house that caught on fire from the one that burned down to the ground. Evidently the the house that burned down only had two dogs and both of them didnt make it.

it might cost us 1k for the siding on our house to get fixed because of deductible on insurance unless something comes out that it was not just an accident (not likely)

Damn that is terrible... did your neighbor have any children ? i can only imagine how rough that will be for them if they had to start school soon... Glad to see the poopra made it through.

ps. Philip you should drive over to daniels and take a look at the street block... I counted at least 12 if not more trees that got snapped in half or blown over from that panzy storm.... All this weird stuff happening makes ya think whens the worlds gonna end  jk

As far as the children there are two daughters that lived at the house that burned down...our next door neighbor still swears that the kids were playing with fireworks in the garage and that is what started the fire. I asked an investigator that was there this morning taking pictures and he said a decision as to the cause still had not been reached. If the fireworks rumour isnt brought up by someone who knows it is true then everyone else is going to have to pay for their own houses.

Yeah, Pedro told me about the trees down. I havent been over there yet...i might get over there and help him clean some of it up. And dont call my car the poopra you...you...mean person you.

i thought someone might be interested in this...the first pic gives you the idea of how far away my house is from the house that burned down. use my car as a reference as it is sitting in the driveway. below is of the doorbell on the front of our house and then the rose bush in front of our house. I took a picture of the truck and car while i was at it :)
