Does anyone on this forum have a dealers licence for car acutions. Aslo can i get a licence without physicly having a dealership. I know i can get it under a dealer right?

you must have a "dealer ship" but the rules are lenient on that part I can not be the same building you live in must have a file cabnet and I dont rember the rest of the rules

To get a dealer liscense you must at least have a "office" with a minimum sq. footage then you must get dealer insurance, that covers all the plates, then you must get bonded for I think $10,000. Then a DMV officer will get you set up and you have about a million rules to go by. It's no small undertaking, but it can be done. My dad has had one in the past but now I think you must sell a minimum of 10 cars per year. They want to keep the casual users from just having plates they can switch from car to car. Also the dealer plates are only for transport and demonstration, but I know you see them all over. I had a employer with dealer plates his wife was pulled over at the mall and given a ticket using a dealer plate on her personal vehicle. It is seldom enforced but that's the real deal.

I see in the above post the bond is higher and there is a course to take.

see we had it in NY when we had an old car thing goin. but i was wanting it again so i could try and buy some cars and sell them but it looks like it would be to much of a pain in the ass
