Ok about 3 weeks ago my computer screwed up. I got a new motherboard and installed it. now today i went to tigerdirect up on capitol and got a new power supply and hdd. Its a Sata Maxtor dimondmax plus 9 160gb. Well it recongnizes it in the bois but, once it goes to boot the dvd drive with windows cd in along with any other cd it wont boot. Also in the sata setup it says "cannot create enough disk for Raid" what does that mean, its a fresh drive. I just want to get my computer back and running, it has been 3-4 weeks with out it.
thanks

Ok i fixed the disk read error. It was that my brand new dvd burner died. So i put in another cd rom and i put in my windows instalation disk and it gets to the install screen. It says i only have one drive. That is my ide drive that has all my back up on, But also my new SATA drive is no where to be found.

There should be setting in bios specifying the roles of the IDE drives, and also information on activating the SATA. What motherboard is it?

Also make sure you system BIOS is at the latest level. Also does your system have a BIOS screen of it's own? I know we have this with the storage cards my company makes.
