Today was supposed to be the day, but Arthur wanted it over the weekend to tweek the driveability... Before I dropped it off, I was making 477/534 with 16.5# of boost... By just putting in the Stage II heads and Stage II cams, I lost 5# of boost. This seems to be what the Lightnings lose with the infinitely more efficient airflow... So with the same pulley set up, i was seeing 11.5#. So we changed from a 5# lower to an 8# lower to get me to 14.5#. Weather during tuning was atrocious in SC (90 degrees/70% humidity) so the numbers are probably lower than they will be on a cool day. I got the 477/534 numbers on a 65 degree low humidity day...
I am very pleased that I gained 32 rwhp/50 rwtq considering I dropped my boost by 2# on a very hot and humid day. If I do it on a 65 degree day like the last numbers, I may be closer to 50 rwhp/70 rwtq gains. Our Trucks hate heat.
I am putting 750-1000 miles on it before I crank her up to 19# for the track...
I can't wait until tuesday...
The following was done over the last 6 weeks
.020 bore
manley pistons
manley rods
comp stage II cams
fox lake stage II heads
larger heat exchanger (front mount intercooler)
2600 stall torque converter
60# injectors
idler pulley kit
